The Valley of so Much More than Just Waves
It’s no secret that the Valley of Waves is one of Sun City’s prime attractions. By creating a landlocked beach, Sun City gives visitors to its resort a magnificent water park that’s completely safe from shark attack!
The Valley of Waves has become synonymous with family fun in the sun and it’s pretty obvious why. With so many kids activities and things to do at the Valley of Waves, it’s no wonder you and the kids will want to keep returning, year after year!
But what are the best attractions at the Valley of Waves? We’ll tell you.
Sandy Beaches and Big Waves
The pristine sandy beach that meets the 6 500 square metre wave pool is perfect for a stretching out and soaking up the sun together. For the full beach effect, jump in to the cool waters and enjoy the mechanical waves that simulate being at the coastline. Aptly named the Roaring Lagoon, the hydraulic systems behind the scenes can create waves up to 1.8 metres tall.
Beyond the beach though, there’s much, much more to be explored at the Valley of Waves!
The Lazy Way To Spend A Day
If you’re keen on spending a day being lazy, the aptly-named Lazy River offers a gentle tube ride around the island. Or, if you’d prefer to be served cocktails while you sunbathed, head to the Royal Baths. The warm waters of the Royal Baths will restore and revive you, as the baths were built over a natural spring – a source of pure, healing waters.
Tumbles and Fun
And for a far more fast-paced day in the sun, the Valley of Waves won’t disappoint. With an array of heart-stopping rides and tumble-around tube adventures, there’s an option for everyone to enjoy. The Temple of Courage is seen as the scariest as you’ll experience a 17-metre drop down a 70-metre slide if you’re brave enough to do it. The body slides, like The Tarantula and The Scorpion are slightly less petrifying but just as exhilarating.
Hiking and Walking
For the intrepid explorers among us, a number of hiking and walking trails have been created around Valley of the Waves, where forests envelop adventurers who can seek out the hidden waterfalls or rare plant varieties.
Put Your Feet Up
But, every good day neds a good meal and, of course, a relaxing place to unwind. The Observatory Deck is open throughout the day if you feel like putting your feet up and just watching the action from afar.
Private Parties
If all this fun in the sun sounds like something you’d like to share exclusively with your loved ones, the Valley of Waves can also be hired out for private use. Whether it’s a party on the beach or dancing on the deck, the Sun City team can help you create the most special celebration.
While the Valley of Waves is clearly far more than just your average water park, perhaps its best feature is its security. With lifeguards permanently on duty whenever the park is open, you can focus on the fun and rest assured that you’re in good hands.
With so much to do at the Valley of Waves, it seems almost silly that you’re still sitting there, reading this. Go grab your sunblock, costumes and go!
