Comedy Shows in Durban

GOLIATH and GOLIATH, which comprises Jason Goliath, Donovan Goliath and Nicholas Goliath, and headed by Managing Director, Kate Goliath, has steadily built one of the most successful comic brands in South Africa. This September the Goliath brothers, in partnership with Sun International, will be visiting Sibaya as part of The Goliath Comedy Road Trip.

A Meteoric Rise

Although Jason, Nicholas and Donovan are considered as newcomers, in three short years these formidable South African comedians have become a force in the comedy industry. Since their arrival on the local comic scene in 2014, GOLIATH AND GOLIATH have won numerous awards including the Savanna Comics Choice – The Best Friend of Comedy Award, three years consecutively. Voted by comedians, the award is given to an individual or entity that has provided support, facilitated or championed South African comedy significantly. In September 2016, the trio then received a BET A-List award which celebrates the top 20 ‘movers and shakers’ in the entertainment industry. This was also the first time that comedians were included on this list, affirming the Goliath clan as pioneers of South African comedy shows.

With a fresh and honest style to their storytelling, the trio’s approach to their stand-up comedy has always been simple: ‘Having people laugh at our shows is possibly the most joy we experience,’ says Nicholas Goliath. ‘Comedy breaks down barriers and brings happiness to people by bringing us together for a positive reason. Our comedy shows are a hit internationally because we have fresh stories, a unique history, a strong culture of storytelling and news ways of thinking and looking at issues,’ says Goliath.
