Three Diverse Bands at the Jackson Hall
It is all about variety at Jackson Hall, GrandWest as we approach the festive season, with three dynamic bands entertaining music fans from December to January on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Doing the honours are the versatile Faze 4, Signature SA and Jeodhouse Band.
In December 2017, Faze4, a band well known for its broad repertoire, will add some zest to the midweek. They’ll be performing an array of songs from different genres every Wednesday night from 21h00. The band’s repertoire includes a mix of music genres including traditional jazz, Cape jazz, R&B, pop, kwaito, reggae, and pop. The band has been together since 2006, performing at various clubs and venues in the Western Cape. The band has also toured extensively in Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Botswana and Namibia. One of the highlights of the band’s career was performing at the 80th birthday party of The Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
Entertaining guests at 21h00 on Friday nights in December 2017 is emerging, young band, SignatureSA. Aged between 17 and 22 years old, the members of this band have been nurturing their talents since childhood in the comfort and warmth of their church community. Now, with the motto “You name it, we play it”, the band performs vibrant sets at venues across Cape Town and has featured at music festivals such as Jazzathon 2017 and KKNK Festival 2017. They opened for Micasa at the WOW Festival and have supported artists such as Loukmaan Adams, Salome, Candice Thornton, Robin Pieters and El Clay.
Jeodhouse band will be performing every Saturday night in December from 21h00 to liven up your weekend. Jeodhouse, formed in 2015, comprises Devanish Hendricks on keyboard and vocals, Dustin Julius on lead guitar, Gurshom Skippers on bass and Liam Webb on drums. Together they have performed at various local clubs and venues, as well as major music festivals including the 2016 Jazz Festival in Tietiesbaai, the Grabouw Festival and Jazz on the Lawn in Cape Town. The band also shared the stage with Dawnay at the KKNK Festival.
