Mechanics

  • Selection of five participants via EBS – Power Winners;
  • Each participant will be given a numbered lanyard, one to five, and will play the game in that order, as selected via the Power Winner mechanism;
  • Participants have two chances to select a box and reveal a prize from the 10-box promotional game tool;
  • The combined value of the prizes revealed will be the total amount of cash that the participant has won.
  • All 10 of the boxes contain cash prizes as per the prize split below.

Rules

  1. No person under 18 is allowed to gamble or participate in this promotion;
  2. Any person who has been issued with a Refusal of Entry order or who is self-excluded or who falls into the category of excluded persons is expressly prohibited from participating in this promotion;
  3. This promotion is closed to any persons who are directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants of or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the company or marketing service providers or spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members;
  1. The promotion runs on the following dates and times:
    • Weekly Power Winners | 2, 9 ,16 and 23 June 2024 | 18h00 to 19h45
    • Weekly Game | Sunday | 2, 9 ,16 and 23 June 2024 | 20h00
    • Finale Game | Sunday | 30 June 2024 | 20h00
    • Finale Earning Period | Every Sunday from 06h45 to the following Monday at 06h45, over the promotional period from Sunday, 2 June 2024 to Monday, 24 June 2024.
  2. Power Winners - Sunday, 2, 9 ,16 and 23 June 2024 from 18h00 to 19h45:
    • 5.1. MVG members must actively be playing slots during the promotional period in the designated areas;
    • 5.2.  On each promotional day 10 MVG members will be randomly selected via EBS during the promotional period;
    • 5.3.  The first five winners will each receive R2 000 cash and the second five will be selected to play the game;
    • 5.4. Slots prize winners will have their prizes downloaded directly onto their cards;
  3. Finale – Sunday, 30 June 2024
    • 6.1. Qualification for the finale game, as well as eligibility for any of the prizes is based on MVG casino points earned on slots every Sunday from 06h45 to the following Monday at 06h45, over the promotional period from Sunday, 2 June 2024 to Monday, 24 June 2024;
    • 6.2. Bonus points do not count towards casino points earned;
    • 6.3. Ticket issue will close automatically 15 minutes prior to the start of the draw;
    • 6.4. Qualifiers will need to be present to be eligible to win any of the prizes;
    • 6.5. Participants will be randomly selected via Promo Exec to play the finale game;
    • 6.6. Contestants will be given 180 seconds to present themselves and must be in possession of their MVG loyalty card and a valid picture identification (Passport, SA Bar-coded Identity Book or Card, SA Driver’s License);
    • 6.7. Should the contestant not present themselves within 180 seconds, a redraw will take place;
  4. Game – Sunday 2, 9, 16 and 23 and 30 June
    • 7.1. The game mechanism entails a promotional toolbox which consists of 15 blocks or moves between the start and end of the game;
    • 7.2 The blocks are numbered and, where applicable, have written instructions to the contestants;
    • 7.3. Weekly games:  Five contestants will be selected via Power Winners.
      • Finale game: Eight winners will be randomly selected via Promo Exec. The first five winners will be selected to play the game.  The last three winners selected will win R10 000 cash each;
    • 7.4. The five game contestants will each receive a lanyard numbered one to five and will participate in the game in that order;
    • 7.5. A large square dice numbered one to six is used by the contestant to throw.  Where it lands, the block may or may not instruct them on what to do next;
    • 7.6. The first contestant to land on FINISH wins the top prize of R10 000 cash (weekly game) and R30 000 cash (finale game).  To land on FINISH the contestant needs to throw the exact number required from their current position, ie. if they are on 15, they would need to throw one; if one is not thrown they remain on 15 and the next contestant throws;
    • 7.7. The second to fifth contestants will qualify for prizes based on their position on the board relative to the winner who landed on FINISH;  
    • 7.8. The game will payout as follows:
      • R40 000 in cash weekly.
      • R130 000 in cash for the finale.
    • In the event of a tie, in the instance that two or more contestants land on the same block, the total prize values of the positions will be added and divided by the number of contestants.  For example, if two contestants land on position 13 on the board then the 2nd and 3rd prize values, will be added and divided by two, ie. in the weekly game 2nd (R8 000) and 3rd (R6 000) = R14 000 divided by two equals R7 000;
    • In the event that the game does not conclude with a clear winner after 15 minutes with each player having had equal turns, the game will be determined to have been concluded and the winners will be identified in the order in which they appear on the board from closest to finish to furthest from finish;
  5. Prize winners must sign for receipt of prizes;
  6. Entries cannot be purchased for cash, points or through any other form of consideration;
  7. In the event of a technical failure or damage to the devices used for the promotion, irrespective of the cause, another suitable device or method may be used, at the sole discretion of Management and the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board will be informed of such changes;
  8. All decisions are final and binding and no correspondence or appeals will be entered into;
  9. Participants do, however, have the option to approach the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board in the event of a dispute;
  10. Any person transgressing the rules of this promotion will be disqualified;
  11. By virtue of participating in the promotion, every winner shall be deemed to have consented to announcements detailing their name and account numbers;
  12. 1Every participant in the promotion shall be deemed to have acknowledged and accepted the rules by virtue of their participation;
  13. The above clauses are severable from each other. Should any clause or part thereof be found to be unenforceable by operation of the law, such clause or part thereof will be severed, and the remaining clauses shall remain in force.
