Rules

  1. No person under 18 is allowed to gamble or participate in this promotion;
  2. Any person who has been issued with a Refusal of Entry order or who is self-excluded or who falls into the category of excluded persons is expressly prohibited from participating in this promotion;
  3. This promotion is closed to any persons who are directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants of or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the company or marketing service providers or spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members;
  1. The tournament is exclusive to the top 48 qualifiers over the qualifying period, excluding the top six (6) national Black Pearl qualifiers and the top GrandWest points earners, who automatically progress to the final competition at Sibaya;
  2. Only 48 seats are available with six players per heat;
  3. Heat and seat allocation will be done randomly and heat and seat numbers will be verified and recorded;
  4. Heat and seat allocations may not be changed;
  5. Leaderboard qualification
    • Tables players must register to participate in the tournament to qualify;
    • The points earning period runs from 06h45 on Monday 14 August 2023 to 06h45 on Monday 18 September 2023;
    • The top six players on the national leaderboard, at the end of the earning period, automatically qualifies for the finals at Sibaya;
    • The Top GrandWest points earner automatically qualifies for the finals at Sibaya
  6. Unit Heats
    • Each Player receives R5 000 in tournament chips at the start of the heat;
    • Table limits of R25 to R500 on a number (min/max) will apply;
    • Players will be given one (1) minute to place their bets; All bets will be placed prior to the dealer spinning the ball and no late bets will be accepted;
    • A heat will consist of 12 spins;
    • No call bets will be allowed;
    • No even chance, columns or dozen bets will be accepted;
    • Players must bet on each spin;
    • A chip count will be done on the11th spin;
    • On the11th and 12th spin, 90 seconds will be allocated to the players for betting;
    • On the final spin, and before the commencement of the 90 seconds of bet placing, each player will be allowed a secret bet consisting of a single number and its splits to a maximum of R500 per split and straight up (this must be in equal units i.e. 17 and the splits by R100). The player will record and sign for their bet in secret and away from the table but must pay for the bet in front of the other players. The Dealer will check that the player has advanced the correct amount for the bet and will hand the secret bet to the Inspector. The secret bets will be opened and placed by the dealer on completion of the final spin and after the layout has been cleared;
    • When a part of a losing bet placed on the layout is over the table limit, the part that is over the limit will be forfeited and not returned to the player. Should such a bet be a winner, the bet will be paid up to the table maximum and the part over the table maximum will also be forfeited;
    • The player with the highest chip count will be regarded as the winner of the heat; in the event of only one player being left in the game that player will be declared the winner.
    • In the event of a tie, there will be a count back to the11th  spin for the relevant players- the chip leader at that stage will be the winner;
    • If the players are still tied, a “Spin off” will take place where the tied players will have one “Sudden Death Spin” including a secret bet to determine the winner of the heat;
    • If the players are once again tied, then they will continue with the “Sudden Death” spins and secret bet until a winner is determined;
    • To ensure a consistent customer experience across participating units and to ensure that all participants have the same opportunities in terms of prizes, the winner of each unit heat will be awarded a prize of R10,000 in Xtra Play.
  7. Prize winners must sign for receipt of prizes;
  8. The standard internal control systems, which governs tables gaming, will be applied to ensure compliance with regards to the rules/procedures;
  9. Disputes shall be referred to the Tournament Director for resolution and his/her decision shall be final and binding;
  10. By virtue of participating in the tournament, players shall be deemed to have acknowledged and accepted the tournament rules;
  11. GrandWest reserves the right to alter or change the schedule in order to play the tournament. If for any reason the Tournament is not capable of running as planned, GrandWest reserves the right to modify the tournament with notification to the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board;
  12. GrandWest reserves the right to terminate the tournament at any stage without giving prior notification, and the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board shall be notified;
  13. All decisions are final and binding and no correspondence or appeals will be entered into;
  14. Participants do, however, have the option to approach the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board in the event of a dispute;
  15. Any person transgressing the rules of this promotion will be disqualified;
  16. The above clauses are severable from each other. Should any clause or part thereof be found to be unenforceable by operation of the law, such clause or part thereof will be severed, and the remaining clauses shall remain in force..
