These SA Golfers are due for a win this week

It’s certainly apt that the Sunshine Tour travels to the Wild Coast Sun this week for the third tournament on the Sun International Challenge Series, because several South African professionals must feel like they are very close to hitting some winning numbers both on home fairways and on the European Tour.

The R750 000 Wild Coast Sun Challenge is the halfway mark on the popular six-tournament Sun International Challenge Series.

Jean Hugo heads to the Wild Coast Sun Country Club for Wednesday’s first round having finished third, eighth and fifth in his last three tournaments, while Ockie Strydom has had two top-10 finishes in his last two tournaments.

There is a strong South African challenge on the European Tour this week as well in the Made in Denmark tournament.

Jake Roos heads to Denmark with finishes of second, fourth and ninth in his last three tournaments on the Sunshine Tour. This includes his playoff defeat to Peter Karmis in the Sun City Challenge.

Jaco Ahlers, the Wild Coast Sun Challenge defending champion, will also be in Denmark and in confident mood following his second place in last week’s Vodacom Origins of Golf tournament at Arabella Country Estate.

And both Jbé Kruger and Keith Horne travel to Denmark in good form following their wins in the Carnival City Challenge and Vodacom Origins of Golf Arabella respectively.
