COMPETITION RULES

  1. In addition to the below rules, terms and conditions, this competition is governed by Sun International’s general Social Media Competition Terms & Conditions. By participating in the competition, entrants agree to all terms, conditions and rules applicable to the competition, without exception.
  2. This competition is open to residents of South Africa aged 18 years and older (no corporates and the like).
  3. Automatically enter the competition between 1 May 2024 and 31 August 2024 (both days inclusive) when booking a stay at a Sun City Resort hotel using the official Sun City or Sun International websites and or digital booking application platforms. Bookings through other websites and or digital booking application platforms will not be eligible for entry into the competition. Sun City accepts no liability whatsoever for bookings not entered into the competition for any reason whatsoever.
  1. Bookings must be for stays between 01 May 2024 and 31 August 2024 and all amounts due in respect of the booking and the stay must be paid in full in line with all booking and other relevant terms at the time of the stay.
  2. One competition entry will be issued for each completed booking and stay. The competition entry will be allocated to the person who booked and paid for the accommodation.
  3. One prize will be awarded for each month of the competition and one prize winner will be drawn by random selection on the 5th day following each month of the competition (5 June, 5 July, 5 August, 5 September) and winners will be notified on the day of the draw.
  4. Each prize shall be a stay at a Sun City Resort hotel for the same number of nights as the competition entry booking, up to a maximum of 5-nights. The accommodation included in the prize will be for a like room or suite at a hotel which is graded one level above the hotel booked in the competition entry booking. In the event that the competition entry booking was for a stay at The Palace hotel, the prize will be for an upgraded room or suite type as relevant at The Palace hotel. In the event that no upgrade is available in respect of a competition entry booking at The Palace Hotel, the same or next best room or suite type will be awarded.
  5. Each prize consists of a stay at one of the following hotels at Sun City Resort on a bed and breakfast basis:
    • Sun City Hotel (upgrade from Cabanas Hotel).
    • Cascades Hotel (upgrade from Sun City Hotel).
    • The Palace Hotel (upgrade from Cascades Hotel).
  6. A maximum of 1 (one) adult and 2 (two) children under 18 (eighteen) years of age may accompany the winner at no additional accommodation and breakfast cost. No additional guests will be included.
  7. Each winner will receive an email notification of the win. The email notification will be sent to the e-mail address provided in respect of the competition entry booking and each winner must follow all directions contained in the e-mail notification in order to redeem the prize. Entrants must always ensure they have access to the email address used when making the competition entry booking. In the event that any winner, for whatever reason, does not receive the e-mail notification, the prize will be forfeited, and a new winner will be selected.
  8. A public announcement will also be made on Sun City and Sun International’s various websites and social media platforms.
  9. Forfeit: There are certain situations in which a winner will forfeit a prize, namely: (i) the entrant fails to provide entrant information within 48 hours of it being requested by Sun City; (ii) the entrant is found to have contravened any term, condition or rule applicable to this competition; (iii) the entrant fails to claim the prize within 14 days (fourteen) days after being notified; or (iv) it is unlawful for the entrant to receive the prize. In the event of a forfeit, Sun City shall be entitled in its sole and absolute discretion to select another winner from the competition entry bookings.
  10. Regarding the application of the terms, conditions and rules applicable to this competition and also the selection of the winner(s) in terms thereof, Sun City’s decision is final and no representations regarding such matters shall be considered, and no correspondence will be entered into with a entrant other than those who are winner(s).
  11. Sun City has the right to change the terms, conditions and rules applicable to this competition without prior notice and entrants shall be deemed to have received notice of such changes on publication of such on various platforms and shall be deemed to have accepted such changes on continued participation in the competition.
  12. Proof of identity will be required prior to receipt the prize and Sun City reserves the right to withhold and withdraw a prize from any prize winner who refuses to or is unable to timeously provide a valid government issued identification documentation for identity verification purposes.
  13. Use of entrant and winner information: By participating in this competition, you consent to the use by Sun City, or a third party nominated by Sun City of your booking information, for purposes related to the competition.
  14. Winners agree that their name, surname and other relevant information relating to participation in the competition can be announced and displayed on Sun City and Sun International’s websites and social media platforms.
  15. Winners agree to participate in publicity campaigns related to the competition, including being filmed and or photographed and having such images published on Sun City and Sun International’s websites and social media platforms and in print media in conjunction with any media partner of Sun City. Winners agree to complete any additional releases required with regard to the aforementioned.
  16. Cancellation: Sun City reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion and without notice, to cancel this competition or change the competition and the terms, conditions, rules and prize, in the event of unforeseen events or circumstances or causes beyond Sun City’s reasonable control, or any breach (actual or anticipated) of the any relevant law, and no liability shall attach to Sun City as a result thereof.
  17. The stay period in respect of prizes awarded shall be effective immediately following the announcement of the prize winner and expires 12 (twelve) months from the first day of the effective month.
  18. Each winner will be responsible for booking their stay with Sun City Resort at least 14 (fourteen) days before their desired check-in date.
  19. Stays must be booked directly through Sun City Resort and not through third-party booking platforms.
  20. Stays are strictly subject to availability which is not guaranteed by Sun City, and winners must provide three date options when booking their stay. Sun City shall have the right at any time prior to the stay to substitute a confirmed booking with another of equal value.
  21. Prizes are not transferrable and may only be utilised by the winner. The winner must be personally present during check-in for the stay.
  22. Prizes may not be redeemed or exchanged for cash.
  23. Each winner must adhere to the specific hotel’s terms and conditions of residence.
  24. Prizes do not include transportation and the cost thereof to and from Sun City Resort.
  25. Any additional meals, activities, and expenses not explicitly stated as part of a prize shall be the responsibility of the winner who will bear the full costs thereof.
  26. Sun City shall not be liable for any losses, liabilities and claims of any kind arising out of an entrant’s participation in the competition or redemption and use of a prize.
