HOW TO ENTER
Under the auspices of the African Chess Confederation (ACC), Chess South Africa (CHESSA) has the honour of inviting all African Federations affiliated to the World Chess Federation (FIDE) to participate in the 2016 African Youth Chess Championships.
The Championships will be held at The Boardwalk Hotel, Convention Centre and Spa, Nelson Mandela Bay, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa from Sunday, 21 August 2016 (official arrival date), to Monday, 29 August 2016 (official departure date).
PARTICIPANTS
Age group categories
In accordance with FIDE regulations, the following age groups are invited:
- Under 8 - players born on or after January 1, 2008
- Under 10 - players born on or after January 1 2006
- Under 12 - players born on or after January 1, 2004
- Under 14 - players born on or after January 1, 2002
- Under 16 - players born on or after January 1, 2000
- Under 18 - players born on or after January 1, 1998
Criteria
In accordance with FIDE regulations, the 2016 African Youth Chess Championships are open to all players from Federations within the African Continent which are affiliated to the World Chess Federation (FIDE).
